Nestlé has announced a voluntary and precautionary recall of certain infant formula products distributed in several European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg, and others.

🔍 What does this mean for infant health?

During routine quality checks, Nestlé identified a potential quality concern related to an ingredient supplied by a third party, used in specific batches of baby formula.

Further analysis showed a possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by Bacillus cereus bacteria.

While rare, this substance may cause digestive symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea—especially in infants whose immune and digestive systems are still developing.

👉 This recall is preventive, and no confirmed cases of illness linked to the affected products have been reported to date.
